Chicago’s Best 10-Pin Bowling Lanes: Fireside Bowl to Lucky Strike Lanes

Diversey River Bowl

2211 W. Diversey

Chicago, IL 60647

Phone: 773-227-5800

This 10-pin bowling alley has everything that a body needs to let the good times roll. They are open on the weekdays until two, and you can party until three on the weekends. And they have great deals on lanes depending on when you go. Most afternoons, you can grab a lane for $10 per hour and spend $1per game. But the fun starts after hours. Besides 10-pin bowling lanes, they feature an open mic comedy night, kareokee on Thursdays and much more. And they’re great for corporate and kids parties. They offer several party packages that have great prices and the adult parties include bowling and beer! However, they’re known for their light shows that feature a thumping sound system, great for creating a party atmosphere!

Waveland Bowl

3700 N Western Ave.

Chicago, IL 60618

These guys started this 10-pin bowling alley way back in 1959 and they’ve been going strong ever since. They feature 40 fun bowling lanes to choose from, and several other amenities. Their Cozmic bowl is a favorite of regulars. Once an evening, they start up the fog machine and black light show and set them to a back ground of top hits that make a great party atmosphere. Plus, they have plenty of pool tables to make sure you’re entertained all night long if you need a break from the bowling lanes. They aren’t open as late as Diversey, but they have very reasonable prices: $10 for morning bowling, $15 for afternoon, and $20-$25 in the evening (just in time for Cozmic bowl). And you can feel comfortable bringing the kiddies. They feature several theme days like “crazy hair”, “pajama day” and many more. So head on down to Waveland Bowl and bring the whole family.

Lucky Strike Lanes

332 E. Illinois St.

Chicago, IL 60611

Phone: 312-245-8332

You can’t go wrong with Lucky Strike 10-pin bowling lanes. Lucky Strike lanes has 18 bowling lanes and offers an upscale bowling atmosphere with tasty treats and lots of lanes. These are the only 10-pin bowling lanes in town that also feature a swank lounge on site so you can party and bowl like you can no where else. This is a great place to throw a party. They have a fashionable atmosphere, designer seating, party suites, pool tables, and an electronic art show. They have professional event planners on staff that can help you plan any type of party. But be prepared to give them a 50% deposit to reserve your event. However, be aware that there are no kiddies allowed (21+) after 9PM, and there is a dress code.

10Pin Bowling Lounge

330 North State Street

Chicago, Illinois 60654

Phone: 312-644-0100

This is another 10-pin lane suited best for adults. These guys have 20,000 square feet of non-stop fun. Its almost hard to stay focused on the twenty four bowling lanes with the 128ft high definition video wall at the end of the lanes, and their state of the art audio system. These guys have great bowling, but their martinis are nothing to sneeze at either. And, one of my favorite things about this bowling alley, they’re open “until” which always means a great party. And speaking of parties, if you’re looking to make a reservation, you must do it six days in advance (20-255 people). The lane fee is $70/hr per lane and it includes shoe rental.

Fireside Bowl

2648 W. Fullerton

Chicago, IL 60647

Phone: 773-486-2700

Fireside Bowl is a great family place that has been around since the 1940s. They haven’t turned their lanes into night clubs like many other lanes. Instead they’ve tried to keep the traditional bowling atmosphere that has kept them in business all these years. But, that doesn’t mean its not a great place to host an office party. They offer a great Full Package deal which includes food, and unlimited open bar, use of the 10-pin bowling lanes and shoes. All that for just $45/hr per person for three hours. For smaller affairs, they offer a variety of other bowling packages. And they’re regular bowling rates are pretty great too: $20-25/hr per lane. Beside all this, you should really invest in a best bowling ball. A good bowling ball is going to add to your bowling experience and will help you improving and breaking your previous bowling records.
